Fiberglass inserts torn out and replaced with tile, valves and spouts cut in clean. Serving Ocala, Belleview and across Central Florida.

Replacing a fiberglass insert with tile changes a bathroom more than almost anything else you can do for the money. We handle the tear-out, backer board, waterproofing and tile, including the fiddly parts around valves and spouts.
The old fiberglass or acrylic surround comes out first, so you can see what’s behind it. The wall is then rebuilt with cement board or another waterproof backer, with the seams and corners sealed and the valve and spout openings cut to size. Tile goes on after that, to the ceiling or to a set height. Grout and caulk finish the job where the tile meets the tub.
Cement board and other waterproof backers are the usual base because, unlike plain drywall, they don’t soften when wet. Wall tile can be ceramic, porcelain or glass, in plain rectangles or a pattern, and an accent band or feature wall is easy to add. A trim piece or bullnose finishes the top edge when the tile stops short of the ceiling. Cement-based grout is normally sealed once it cures, which helps it shrug off soap and water.
Once the insert is out, surprises sometimes turn up: damp or soft framing, old adhesive, a wall that isn’t plumb. Tile won’t hide any of that, so it gets dealt with first, and if something unexpected shows up you hear about it before any extra work starts. The joint between tile and tub moves a little, so it gets flexible caulk instead of grout.
None of this is an upgrade or a line item. It’s just how the work gets done.
We come out, measure and give you a clear price with the scope spelled out before you commit to anything.
Substrate checked, levelled and made sound. We won’t set tile over something that’s going to move.
Wet areas get a waterproof base with sealed corners and penetrations — every time.
Floors protected, debris bagged, and the area swept down before we leave each day.
Tear-out and offcuts go with us. You’re not left with a pile in the driveway.
We go over the finished work with you and put right anything you’re not happy with.

It depends on the size, the tile and what’s behind the walls once we open them up — a small mosaic pan is a very different job to a floor-to-ceiling walk-in. That’s exactly why the estimate is free and done in person: you get a real number for your bathroom, not a guess off a price list.
A backsplash is usually a day. A tub surround is typically a few days. A full bathroom with a custom shower generally runs one to two weeks depending on size, tear-out and how long materials take to cure. We’ll give you a realistic window before we start.
Either way works. Plenty of customers pick their own tile and we install it; others would rather we point them at suppliers and help them choose something that fits the layout and the budget. Just tell us which you’d prefer.
Showers get a proper waterproof base before any tile goes on — membrane or liner depending on the build, with corners and penetrations sealed and banded. It’s the least visible part of the job and the one that decides whether it lasts.
